Interpersonal Mindfulness (IM):
Cultivating Presence in Relationship
With Elaine Retholtz Our lives are webs of social relationships and communication. Often, we function in our relational lives as if we are asleep; being pulled by likes and dislikes, assumptions and judgments. Developing interpersonal mindfulness leads to being more fully present and caring with others and oneself. This class is based upon the practice of Insight Dialogue. For MBSR grads or those with prior meditation experience. Please note that the all-day class that is included will be held on June 1 from 9:30am - 5pm at the JCC. Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR)
Becoming more ‘stress-hardy’ can lead to better life-long health. The MBSR program, developed at the University of Massachusetts Medical center by Jon Kabat-Zinn, integrates mindfulness meditation (moment-to-moment, non-judgmental awareness) with a profound level of inquiry into its relevance to daily life. MBSR can bring changes in physical and psychological symptoms, greater energy, improved self-esteem, and increased ability to cope with pain and stress. This course includes instruction in mindfulness meditation, gentle stretching and yoga, group dialogue and inquiry, along with daily practice support materials. With Elaine Retholtz, MBSR teacher and acupuncturist in private practice. For more information call 646.505.5726. Co-sponsored by NY Insight Meditation Center. (more)REGISTER

MBSR Alumni Monthly Practice Group
