This program is geared towards young athletes that want to work on their endurance, learn proper competitive starts and turns and other racing skills to potentially try-out for the JCC Thunderbirds Swim Team. Tryouts required. Your swimmer must complete 25 meters of all four competitive strokes. By appt only. Our advanced beginner class builds on the skills presented in our Bottlenose Dolphins class. This class focuses on treading water, breathing, and the basics of freestyle and floating without help. Prerequisite: Children MUST be comfortable with putting their faces in the water. If they are not, please see our Bottlenose swim classes. Prerequisite: Coordinated freestyle and backstroke for 15 meters.This class takes skills learned in our Swordfish class and adds to it. Great White Sharks bring all four competitive strokes (butterfly, backstroke, breaststroke and freestyle) together. Butterfly and Breaststroke arms are introduced and improved upon as well as freestyle and backstroke advanced drills and techniques.
