7th Floor Construction begins mid-December
November 1, 2019
This is an exciting moment for the JCC. After 19+ years of constant, robust use, we will soon begin the process of renovating the 7th floor.
We've heard from many of you about how the environment impacts your experience at the JCC, and hope that the addition of items such as smart boards, new chairs, and improved lighting and sound will positively affect how you learn, connect, and enjoy being part of this community. That matters to us, and we're pleased to be spending January through April preparing for the decades ahead.
What can you expect during construction?
With construction comes noise and aggravation. Elevator delays at the JCC can be expected during these months, as there will be significant periods of time when one elevator will be dedicated to transporting materials needed for this project. Elevator doors will not open on the 7th floor during construction/renovation work.
Participants in classes will be contacted to let you know where you'll be meeting come late December. It's our goal to minimize the inconvenience and ensure you continue to get the most out of your programs. Some classes normally scheduled on the 7th floor will not take place during the construction period. We are attempting to relocate as many classes as possible.
What can you expect after construction?
In addition to the improvements mentioned above, you'll return to a Beit Midrash and Library flexible enough to become one large space, or two or three smaller ones, with the addition of soundproof, movable walls.

We know that construction of any kind can be a serious inconvenience, but we'll be thrilled to welcome you back into these spaces after Passover. We hope you'll agree that the renovations make a difference in your experience, and that your future here is worth investing in.
