JASA

Engage volunteers choose opportunities that fit their interests and availability or create their own. Possible volunteer opportunities include:

  • DOROT: Visit homebound seniors weekly with the friendly visitor program, or on an occasional basis with the response team. Prepare dinner for the homelessness prevention program.

  • The Hebrew Free Burial Association: Assist in the office helping to provide free Jewish burial services to people in need and assisting with genealogical research.

  • The Jack and Shirley Silver Center for Special Needs at the Marlene Meyerson JCC Manhattan: Become a mentor for an adult who has special needs.

  • JASA (Jewish Association Serving the Aging): Facilitate workshops at senior centers and NORCs, and serve food at senior centers in Manhattan.

  • The Marlene Meyerson JCC Manhattan Literacy + Math Programs: Tutor in an Upper West Side public school and help students in our community achieve academic success.

  • The New York City Coalition Against Hunger: Address hunger by conducting outreach about public benefits and providing professional and technical assistance to food pantries and soup kitchens.

  • Partnership for Parks: Help maintain and beautify NYC parks and playgrounds.

And many, many more!

Help us continue to ensure accessible programming for everyone. Please support Engage Jewish Service Corps at the Marlene Meyerson JCC Manhattan.
