New York Writers Workshop

Whether you’re an aspiring writer or an avid reader, the JCC has a program to quench your literary thirst. Through our association with New York Writers Workshop, which serves a thriving community of aspiring writers, we offer a variety of classes and workshops in the areas of fiction, nonfiction, and poetry to hone your skills and get your creative juices flowing. And if you’d rather immerse yourself in the work of others, our regular book club groups will give you a place to discover a new favorite book or re-read an old one in the company of other book lovers.

Book Clubs

Through both fiction and nonfiction groups, you'll explore some of today's best new books and meet other book lovers at the JCC. Don't miss some of the most stimulating and breezy conversations on the Upper West Side. Join anytime and come as often as you'd like.

Clubs include (click link in upper right to join):

Strictly Fiction: Explore some of today's best new fiction, and meet other book lovers at the JCC. Join any time and come as often as you'd like. Led by Lorraine Daigneault and Elsa Honig Fine. No registration required.

Nonfiction Club: Facilitator Lorraine Aronowitz Danzig is less interested in whether you've read the book than in your participation in this stimulating, breezy discussion about the issues it might raise. No registration required.

Help us continue to ensure accessible programming for everyone. Please support the Arts at the Marlene Meyerson JCC Manhattan.
