This four part virtual course will help students at any level learn the basics necessary to draw and paint the human face using supplies you already have at home. Learn how to use light and shadow to create 3D forms of the human head and act as your own model using a mirror. Share works with your fellow students throughout the course.

WEEK 1:
I will open with an overview of my approach and in drawing or painting the portrait.  I will discuss my experience doing self-portraits and why I think self-portraits are important.
IN CLASS EXERCISE:
We will do a 15 minute drawing of your own eyebrows in the mirror.
Then if you choose, I will critique your eyebrow exercise during the class.  Everyone can learn from each other's work.
I will discuss my approach to drawing the eyebrows and show examples.
I will close with answering questions and critiquing anyone's self-portrait started at home.

WEEK 2:
I will discuss the forehead this week.
If anyone has self-portraits to show we will discuss those.
