Startling new discoveries in the field of sleep science may finally explain the long-known connection between poor sleep and cancer. In this interactive workshop, we will explore the connection between sleep and immunity and learn strategies to optimize sleep for health and longevity. We will discuss how to tweak your current health-promoting habits by getting them in sync with your body's circadian cycle. You will learn how the body attempts to detoxify carcinogens during sleep, what stands in the way, and how to support this important process. We will discuss the barriers to good sleep you may experience as a survivor, including daytime fatigue, residual pain, sleep positioning for scars and edema, worry and panic, urinary urgency/incontinence, and any other questions you may have.
It is highly recommended but not necessary that you attend the Productive Sleep workshop on Sun, Mar 1, prior to taking this class.
