SeniorTechNYC: Technology Classes for Older Adults

Do you find technology to be moving at a daunting rate? Do you want to brush up on your computer skills? Then sign up for SeniorTechNYC. One of the JCC's original volunteer programs, SeniorTechNYC offers technology classes for adults 50+ taught by knowledgeable volunteers.

Topics have included computers, mobile devices (iPhone, Android, and tablets), social media, web browsing, smartwatches, applications, and more. Additionally, we offer unique one-to-one sessions where participants can individually discuss their questions with teenage volunteers.

Classes are one to three sessions long. Due to construction, not all classes will be taking place in The Andy Kates Multi-Media Center on L2. When you arrive at the JCC, please check with the box office staff to find out where your class will meet.

If you have questions about our classes, please call our hotline at 646.505.4390 and someone will get back to you with the answers you need.

“I found [my one-to-one] session extremely useful, in great part due to Michael, my young helper. My objective in this session was to learn how to back up my photos in my iPhone and my PC. Michael explained the process in a very competent manner. He answered all my questions clearly and patiently. He was generous with his time and never showed annoyance at my asking him to repeat his explanation. I was quite impressed by his seriousness and maturity, all the more as this was his first session as helper.”

“[I greatly appreciate] the patience, organization, and teaching skills of one of your volunteers, Nancy Neschis. This is such a valuable program. I wish more seniors would take advantage of it.”
