Dan has been a licensed massage therapist for over 20 years. His favorite techniques include Swedish, Trigger Point Therapy, Deep Tissue, Joint Mobilizations, and working on repetitive strain injuries. Dan holds licenses in New York and Florida and is a qualified member of the National Certification Board of Massage Therapists and Bodyworkers. Dan also spent some time as an adjunct professor teaching technique and health-related courses at Mildred Elley College.

Doreen Ashley

Every other Monday and Friday 3-8pm and Tuesdays 3-8 pm

Doreen worked as a computer graphic artist for 16 years, but as the world changed, her desire to do something more organic and personal became more important. A graduate of the Swedish Institute, she believes the client's body will tell us what it needs to heal. “As a massage therapist, if we are willing to listen and respect the body's wisdom, we can act as facilitator of healing and well-being. Each client is different and deserves an individualized massage session that speaks to their needs.” While working with a client, Doreen creates a safe and relaxed atmosphere where she can begin the task of healing the body with modalities such as Swedish Massage, Deep Tissue Manipulation, Range of Motion (ROM), Trigger Point, and Stretching.

He has worked at gyms and fitness clubs and in hotels including the Waldorf Astoria, Trump Soho, and the Cornelia Spa at the Surrey Hotel. His massage is a combination of deep tissue, Swedish, passive-stretching, and pressure points. Douglas tends to attract clientele looking for a sports/medical massage experience. Of course, each massage is customized to the client’s specific needs. His massage education is ongoing basis even before it became a mandatory NYS law. He has completed courses in Abdomen Massage, Sports Massage, Oncology Massage, Medical Massage, Myofascial Release, Craniosacral, Ortho-Bionomy, BodyTalk, and Reiki.

Ellen is the clinical director of Oncology Massage at the Marlene Meyerson JCC Manhattan’s Cancer Care Massage Program, which she proudly helped build. She is a certified member of Associated Bodywork & Massage Professionals, and specializes in oncology massage, restorative relaxation massage, and palliative and hospice care. In a supportive environment, and away from the rigors of medical care, Ellen’s massage is focused on decreasing stress, relieving pain, improving range of motion, aiding sleep and appetite, and mitigating other side effects of treatments. Ellen is a graduate of NYC’s esteemed Swedish Institute and the College of Health Sciences (2009). She holds certifications in oncology massage and infant massage, and has additional training in Tuina (Chinese massage) and reflexology foot massage. She is a former medical technician and non-profit administrator. Committed to the healing arts and expressing her creativity, Ellen has also been a painter and textile designer for more than 30 years. She brings a collaborative and holistic approach to both massage work and her art, drawing on the miracles and breadth of nature and the human spirit, to which she bears witness with every client she has the privilege to work with.

Since graduating from the Swedish Institute College of Health Sciences, she has been working as a massage therapist with a specialty in Swedish, Deep Tissue, Myofascial Release, and Shiatsu. Joelle believes in allowing the body to guide the individualized session toward healing and relaxation, ensuring that everyone gets the right attention where it is most needed.

Her massage background incorporates Swedish, Shiatsu, Prenatal and Postnatal, and some training in Craniosacral and Reflexology. Upon her graduation from the Swedish Institute, she worked at several hotels and day spas providing massage and body treatments, including hot stone, body scrubs, and body wraps. Loretta tailors each massage experience to address her clients’ areas of concerns by customizing her strokes.

Rachim is a graduate of the Swedish Institute with over 30 years of massage experience. He has been a massage instructor for the past 10 years. Rachim uses his sessions not only to help ease the aches and pains of his clients but to educate them on their ailments and help find ways to reduce or eliminate their issues. He focuses on trying to find just the right amount and style of pressure for each client, each time, with lots of detailed work.

Her mission is to support individuals in achieving life balance through personal wellness. A firm believer in the inseparable connection between mind/body, Tammy is an advocate of massage for relieving physical as well as emotional stress, and strongly believes in massage as a viable modality for enhancing overall health and well-being.
